take that, asheville

at 1:45 am, darren wakes me up saying "Jenna, get out of bed!", much to my surprise and alarm.

is there a fire? is there a some strange creature in the bed?

nope. there are deer about 10 feet from our window having a midnight snack. two full grown deer.

it was quite a sight at 1:45 am. after a few minutes in awe, i had to convince darren to go back to sleep, which he finally did when the motion-activated porch light went off.

You win. There have never been deer visiting just outside my bedroom window. Still, the hostility, Jenna. Ouch. I can't help it if the tourists scare off the deer. The other day, there was a rabbit outside the bathroom window, but it was more like 40 feet, maybe 50. You win, you win.

Mwa ha. I hope at some point I'll stop being obnoxious about it. But it's really just great up here. I won't lie. The mountains are a great place to be. Even without the deer. HowEVER, my Zims/Cookies&Co/Foodworks craving is about to push me over the edge. I'll be back down there before you know it. Soon. (Did you see the article on Mir's blog? Athens sure is doing something right!)
